Productivity Places Program for Existing Workers 2009
On 1 July 2009, the Hon Michael O’Brien, Minister for Further Education and Employment, launched the Productivity Places Program for Existing Workers.
Around 6000 existing workers in South Australia will have the chance to increase their skills and gain qualifications as part of a $20 million joint initiative between the Australian Government, the South Australian Government and industry.
DFEEST are now seeking proposals from organisations that will:
- Provide skill recognition and/or up-skill South Australia’s workforce.
- Provide complete nationally endorsed qualifications issued by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Can demonstrate strong industry links and partnerships with enterprises.
- Offer training in qualifications to address Industry demand for skills.
- Demonstrate availability of additional learning and social supports to help ensure the highest possible level of training completion.

The Productivity Places Program (PPP) is part of the Australian Government’s Skilling Australia for the Future initiative, attracting joint funds from the Australian Government, South Australian Government and Industry. The Program will provide additional training opportunities to assist existing workers to gain nationally recognised qualifications, with a major focus on certificate levels IV and Diploma.
The SA Health & Community Services Skills Board will once again be providing letters of support to proponents where applicable. To request a letter of support please foward a copy of your application to the CE, Alison Arblaster at:

INFORMATION SESSIONS
Attention: Parties interested in tendering for the PPP for Existing Workers
As you are aware, applications are now open for organisations to tender for the 2009 round of Productivity Places Program funds for Existing Workers.
The Productivity Places Program will be delivering information sessions offering details on submitting a competitive application, including a chance to ask questions and clarify information in the guidelines and application form.
The information sessions are scheduled all day Wednesday 22nd July (1.5 hour sessions each) as well as the morning of Thursday 23rd July 2009 (9am to 10.30am).
If you would like to book in for a session, please contact the DFEEST PPP Team on 8207 8767 as soon as possible.
Please note that PPP applications close on Wednesday 5 August 2009.
These sessions are not for the PPP Job Seekers Program and are tailored to organisations interested in submitting an application (such as RTO’s; public, private and non-Govt enterprises; employers; industry bodies/associations; other organisations with a role in workforce development).
