We are very pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the inaugural Human Services at Work Awards for Excellence in Workforce Development. There are many fantastic workforce development success stories from organisations across the breadth of our Health and Community Services sector. These awards will recognise South Australian enterprises and individuals who are achieving excellence in developing a skilled workforce for the industry. If you are achieving good retention, have successful recruitment strategies in a difficult labour market, are developing the qualifications of your staff, have innovative supervision and management, are using intricate planning tools and methodologies, are working collaboratively with registered training organisations, have high completion rates for traineeships or have developed any other good workforce development strategies that your organisation is proud of we encourage you to download the guidelines and nomination form. We are anticipating a good range of nominations as we know that the health & community services sector in South Australia is in many ways at the forefront of workforce development. The Award winners will be recognised at what will be a gala event at the National Wine Centre on the evening of 22 May 2008. This will follow our first Human Services at Work Conference: Developing people –sustaining our workforce. More information regarding the Conference will be released shortly. We are currently seeking sponsors for each of the Awards. This is a good opportunity for the sponsoring organisation to support and associate their organisation with excellent workforce practices in our sector. If you are interested in sponsoring the Awards or the Conference please call Greg or Angelina at the skills board office on 8362 9311. The Human Services at Work Conference and Awards are a major event on the calendar this coming year so make certain that you block out the 22 May on your calendar today.
