This project will support the development and implementation of new and emerging health assistant roles in allied health, across public and private health organisations. They will support the role of allied health professionals, with the aim of increasing productivity, recruitment and retention of workers within the health sector.
The creation of these new allied health assistant roles will enable the following to occur in the sector:
- employees to 'trial' the work prior to further investment in training
- easier access to the sector for non-traditional workers and those in rural and remote areas
- significant flexibility/mobility within the sector (for workers with widely applicable skills)
