ClinEdSA Appoints New Manager and Gets to Work

ClinEdSA is the name for the delivery arm of South Australia's Integrated Regional Clinical Training Network, an initiative supported by Health Workforce Australia and the health & education Sectors in SA. ClinEdSA will work in partnership with both sectors to increase the availability & quality of clinical placements for health professional students & trainees across all of SA.

Skills for All Survey – Last Chance to Participate

The new Skills for All policy framework will lead to significant changes to the VET system within SA over the next few years. Traineeships: Education Support qualification now available

The Certificate III in Education Support (CHC30808) qualification is now available for delivery in South Australia through a 12 month traineeship. This qualification covers workers that provide assistance and support to teachers and students in schools and community education settings. Details for the traineeship are provided in the September 2011 Traineeship and Apprenticeship Pathways Schedule.

Traineeships: expansion of ‘User Choice’ program in SA

Existing worker trainees undertaking Certificate III qualifications whose training contracts commence on or after 1 September 2011 will now be able to attract a User Choice funding subsidy to assist with the costs of training. This funding was previously only available for existing worker trainees undertaking a few priority qualifications. For information about qualifications available through traineeships, see the Traineeship and Apprenticeship Pathways Schedule and contact Traineeship and Apprenticeship Services for more information about traineeships and user choice.

The SAHCSSB welcomes the appointment of Karen Taylor as the new Chief Executive Officer of Government Skills Australia, the Industry Skills Council for Government & Community Safety. The main aim of Australia's Industry Skills Councils is to bring together industry, educators and governments and unite them on a common industry-led agenda for action on skills and workforce development. .

 Skills for All is the new direction for vocational education and training (VET) in South Australia

 Significant changes are being implemented progressively from 2012 which are designed to transform the system to be more demand driven and more responsive to students and industry.
