On 22nd May 2008 the SA Health & Community Services Skills Board held the inaugural Human Services at Work Awards for Excellence in Workforce Development.
One of the major benefits of holding the Awards was learning of the excellent practices being used by the health and community services industries in developing our workforce.
Listed below are some of the winners of the Human Services at Work Awards for Exellence in Workforce Development. Click on their name to learn more about the strategies and practices which helped them win their awards.
Anglicare SA aims to "...be a leader in the industry and to develop and grow our existing staff and attract new candidates to the industry". They were with winners of the Innovation in Workforce Development Award
The Mental Health Coalition of SA won one of two Judges Awards for their work in increasing the capacity and effectiveness of the mental health sector to support people affected by mental illness.
Masonic Homes Inc were one of the two winners of the Create a Learning Culture Award. They state: "Our continutal improvements in HR practices, recruitment and retention strategies, employer branding, flexible remuneration packages and developing an attractive career structure, all within a healthy and safe work environment, are essential for attracting and retaining quality skilled staff, maintaining organisational knowledge and capacity for growth".
Interwork Limited were the recipients of an award for Investing in People for work they have undertaken as part of their goal to become an employer of choice. An Individual Award was presented to Gladys Claridad, Human Resources Manager.
